Community Electricity is a Climate Tech start-up that transforms neighborhoods into a concept they call Prosumer Communities, also known as virtual power plants. They have created a protocol, software and reward mechanism to motivate, orchestrate and accelerate the deployment of advanced interconnected energy systems and thus contribute to the energy transition.

Prosumer Communities are networks of producers and consumers of clean electricity organized to create value in the network, reduce pollution and increase equity at the local level, prioritizing disadvantaged communities.

This new model lowers electricity costs for tenants, generates additional income for property owners, reduces carbon emissions and decarbonises the electricity grid. 

They have different programs for different types of users, such as the Multi-Family Housing program, Single-Family Housing or Community Solar.
